The Achensee region itself is associated with a place for a romantic or family getaway, because it is very peaceful and quiet here and offers relaxation close to nature, with a pinch of luxury in a hotel with spa. However, this region between the Rofan and the Karwendel mountains also offers a lot of active entertainment: a few mountain trails with panoramic views, bike routes, and in summer kite surfing on the lake. It is also one of the best places in Austria to try a paragliding. The Achensee region has over 500 kilometers of well-maintained and marked hiking trails. There are many options to choose from. From easy, flat routes, such as the Karwendel valleys of Pertisau, to difficult routes and conquering the peaks. Rofan cable car and Karwendel cable car bring you higer and shorten the march by a few hours. I recommend you two classics, because they guarantee beautiful, panoramic views along the way:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  1. Baerenkopf (1991 m)<\/strong> – from the Baerenbadalm pasture you can reach the top in about 1.5 hours. If you want to go from the Baerenbadalm pasture through the Weissenbachsattel pass, it will take about 2 hours. There is a panoramic view of the dark blue Achensee lake, bordering the untouched Karwendel mountains range and the Brandenberg rocky Alps.<\/li>
  2. Mount Stanserjoch (2102m)<\/strong> \u2013 from the Mount Stanserjoch you can enjoy a 360 \u00b0 panorama with a magnificent view of the entire Inn Valley. If air transparency is possible, you can see the highest mountain in Austria, Grossglockner.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    For all who like adventure and adrenaline it\u2018s a must do in Tyrol! I was looking for the perfect place for a dream flight for a long time and finally I found it! Paragliding over the Rofanseilbahn valley and the Achensee lake surrounded by mountains is a perfect place for a first flight.     Lake Achensee is the largest glacial lake in Tyrol, 9 km long, 1.3 km wide and 133 meters deep. The scenery is amazing so cruising around the lake is a must. The Achensee fleet has 5 ships. The oldest of them is the cruise ship “St. Joseph “. It was transported in 1887 by horse and carriage from Jenbach to Achensee. In addition to regular cruises, there is also an evening cruise with music, dance and food on board. During the trips around the area, it is worth visiting one of the six marinas: Pertisau, Seespitz, Buchau, Achenseehof, Scholastika and Gaisalm. The last of them is located on the west shore of the lake and is accessible only on foot or by boat.     It is worth visiting to the nature park Naturpark Karwendel to admire the beauty of the local nature. The plateau called Ahornboden is set against the backdrop of a charming landscape with massive limestone cliffs of the Karwendel Mountains. It has about 2,000 clones over 500 years old. It looks beautiful at any time of the year, but autumn has a special magic. Interesting fact – every year instead of old, dead trees new ones are planted to preserve the uniqueness of this place.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    Definitely the Achensee region is famous for its boutique hotels with spa, private beaches and outdoor pools. It’s a perfect place for a short getaway close to nature with a little luxury, good cuisine and nice massage.
